Hi Coach,
There is a reality that The Dribble Drive Motion Offense has a serious problem!
That said… it is still may be the most popular system offense even today.
- It is simple to learn
- It is simple to run
- It gives players the freedom to make plays
The problem with that is this.
- Many
times it turns into a One-Dimensional Offense
- It becomes very predictable with Dribble Hand Offs and Downhill Drives.
- To combat that… Defenses Pack It In & Force you to shoot from the outside
Finally, when the offense stalls and breaks down… players tend to take matters into their own hands (which can be good at times) but too many times your offense begins to look like any old open gym offense with little discipline or team organization.
Now if you are more talented than everyone on your schedule… and your talent can overtake disciplined half court defenses, then we all wish we were in your position.
For everyone else… we need to do something different with our Dribble Drive On Court
Strategy.
