Hi Coach,
As we’ve been discussing the past two days… Dribble Drive can become both repetitive and predictable.
To address this we have many options.
First: Fix the core offense…
Make sure your players are getting to their spots… and HOLDING their spots until it is time to move. The freedom we give them to make plays allows for players to be lazy in positioning, timing, filling, etc.
Second: Modify or Hybrid it
Up…
Dribble Drive’s strength is in it’s simplicity and space for playmakers to go make plays.
But the lack of cutting, screening, and actions that move the defense is its downfall.
Explore creativity in modifying your Dribble drive … and / or just blend it with another proven offensive system.
Third: Your players aren’t knocking down the first
domino
Especially if you run Dribble Drive for it’s spacing and simplicity but you lack the amount of playmakers and shooters that truly make this offense go!
And
you may have playmakers… but lack some fundamental skills to actually be efficient!
Be specific, not fancy, with what and how you teach your players in regards to skill development!
