Final Summer Camp Idea

Final Summer Camp Idea June 30, 2009 I like to end my summer youth clinic on a Saturday morning with a special father/son clinic. Many years, that day was the Saturday of Father's Day Weekend which has made it even better. We invite the fathers of the high school players and coaches to join us as well. We run stations and let the youngsters show their fathers some of the ballhandling and shooting drills that they have learned and then let them "coach" their fathers as the dads try the drills.
We finish it off with some games like horse, "old school" 21, gotcha, or anything that they want to play to have some fun together.
The last thing we do as we close is to ask the boys tell their Dads thanks for all they have done for them and that they love them with a handshake and a hug.
On a related note, I was an assistant in a program that always ended the summer program with a father/son canoe trip.
I know it might be too late to plan anything this year, but hopefully this might spark an idea for your program.
