Multipurpose Drill

My favorite drill for evaluating and developing a player's ability
to dribble against pressure is the two on one dribbling drill.
 
I never want a player to dribble the ball against two in a game, 
and we make that clear every time we run the drill.
 
It can be used in season and out of season--depending on your
association's rules for out of season workouts.  I like to use
it during tryouts to evaluate players--especially in a new job.
 
But, in terms of making practices tougher than games, I think
this is the best way to do it for dribblers.  If you are a pressing
team, you can set up the drill in a way that helps you work on
your traps.
 
I like to allow the dribbler to use the whole floor, but at times,
have limited the area to half court or a third of the court to
challenge the dribbler or to make up for talent discrepancies.
 
My final thoughts is for you to set time limits and to develop
a scoring system that fits your program philosophy to make
the drill competitive.
